Yawn!

Well I've got a boring day ahead of me.

We're short staffed at work what with people going off on holiday (how dare they!) and people going off sick (more holidays) so today I have to spend ALL day on my own looking after a lad who is on "lock-down."

A lock-down basically means that because of his behaviour he is confined to his apartment. He has an apartment all of his own within our centre which means I'm not going to see any other staff either!

This lad won't get up until gone 12:00 so until then I have to amuse myself. So far I've had breakfast, checked my email, read blogs, replied to comments, left a few comments, watched the end of Hart to Hart and all of Magnum.

This is going to be a long long day.

I remember the days. used to hate it when I had to have a resident on a 'lock down' and was confined to the 'quiet room' with bean bags and tubes with coloured lights and a fish tank the only things to entertain me whilst he ranted and ravd, punched and kicked and tossed bean bags around the room.

Long shifs indeed. I do not envy you.

I think it seems that it is more of a punishment for the staff who have to look after them than for the recalcitrant themselves.

A bit like grounding badly behaved teenagers is more of a punishment for the parents cos you have pissed off kids hanging about getting on your nerves all day.

Is this the guy who attacked you before? If so please be very careful.

Speaking of a lock-down, we have had a few where I work but it was the staff locked inn the building as the area where I work is, um, 'shady' to say the least.

Couple of eegits decided to shoot a gun out on their balcony in broad daylight.
