Are you getting in practice for next weekend?
Brace yourself.
Time grows short.

Hey Landers,
Hope you had a good trip mate, Im in the process of organising a few days in the county of Galway with some friends! So I need some tips as to the best bars!
Chris.
Okay so there are a quite a few excellent places to go, it just very depends what kind of music you're into... I say that because 90& of the bars in Galway play live music.
If you want traditional Irish music (or diddly diddly music as my mother calls it) then you can't beat Tis Coli. It's a great bar with impromptu gatherings of musicians.
If you want rock music then Sally Longs is the place! It's worth a look at the outside anyway as there is a fantastic mural on the outside of various musicians, alive and dead.
The Kings Head is a good place for history. It's used to belong to the guy who beheaded Charles I (or maybe Charles II) and the place is full of history... and a "must see" massive fire place! - There is also music on there now and again.
Now if you want something extra special The Quays is the place to go. Decked out in fixtures and fittings from a Scandinavian Church (ladies take a piss in a confessional), walking in either door will bring you to bar and just above you (unless it's a Saturday night) will be a band playing various types of music. Once you're done go upstairs (as long as it's not a Saturday) and watch another great band play in front a church organ that takes up a whole wall. I can highly recommend a Sunday night in The Quays.
All of those bars can be done in one night... starting at Sally's, onto Tis Coli, the Kings then the Quays.
There are loads of other great places, it just depends what you're in to and if you want music at all. GPO (nightclub - dance), Taffees (traditional), Bunch of Grapes (no music but get locked in!), The Stage Door (gay bar).
Do you need to know hotels or anything else?
One thing to note... when going out no one in Galway goes out until 9.30/10.00pm. So if you lot are ready and sat in a bar at 9pm and wondering why it's dead, that's why.

Ah great advice mate cheers. Think we've got the hotel sorted, H wants to stay at the 'Courtyard by Marriot?' (typical). Will definately be checking out the Quays, have heard good things about that place before, and Sally longs sounds pretty awesome! You seem to have confirmed what everyone else has said about Galway, sounds like a really cool place!
Cheers for the heads up mate,
Chris.
Of course, should you wish to meet for a drink, that option is also available.
